Sweeties – 2019

Postcards and souvenirs depict Australia as a land of sunshine and plenty, where big fruit and manicured wilderness often loom large. Cavorting in these scenes are pale holidaymakers who are just a few minutes away from turning bright red. Sweeties plays with these blissful images, creating a world where the natural and the artificial become interchangeable. The reds and browns of the landscape now glimmer with candied, neon colours.  Sweetness is cut through with a hint of spikiness.
