“Beauty Runs the Gauntlet is a showcase of exceptional female artists residing in the Waverley municipality. Waverley boasts an incredible creative community including many leading contemporary artists. In this exhibition, the artists present their perspectives on the human experience, their place within the world and their relationship to environment, community and culture. Dealing with themes of histories and meaning of place, nature and its great force within us, and femininity in all its expression, they offer their unique insight into the world. Coinciding with International Women’s Day, this exhibition aims to celebrate, elevate, and highlight the creativity, diversity, and achievements of local women.

From emerging to established professionals, the exhibition presents a rich and vibrant example of the artistic talent found within the Waverley community. Featuring the work of Elizabeth Day, Gitte Backhausen, Joy Ivill, Kirsten Fredericks, Marisa Purcell, Martine Emdur, Maz Dixon, Rox De Luca, Zorica Purlija. We invite you to join us in celebrating these inspiring women and their contributions to the art world.
